How do I take care of my pool?
8 Tips you can’t miss for taking care of your pool
Consistency and regularity are key words in pool maintenance. You should spend approximately 1/2 hr. on your pool every week.
It is sort of like maintaining your yard. Cut your grass once a week and your yard always looks nice and it is easy to maintain.
Let it go for several weeks, and it looks terrible and clogs up your mower as you plow through weeds two feet high.
If you follow the simple formula below, you will have very few problems, if any, with your pool:
#1. Test your water and adjust your Chlorine and pH levels.
#2. Clean out your skimmer baskets
#3. Clean out your pump strainer baskets
#4. Clean out your Automatic Pool Cleaner bag or basket
#5. Shock treat your pool with Chlorine
#6. Brush or vacuum your pool ( If you have an automatic pool cleaner, like Polaris, this may not be necessary)
#7. Clean your filter (elements if it is Cartridge or D.E. backwash if it is sand)
#8. Have your water tested electronically
Your water should be clear enough to see a coin on the bottom at any time. If your water becomes cloudy or discolored, you are headed for trouble, but just because it is clear, does not mean that it is safe to swim in.
Perform the functions above and you will love having a pool. If you can’t do them on a regular basis, hire a service company like ours to do them for you.
