Top Trends for Pool Toys
With summer in full swing, everyone is ready to hit the pool. Pool toys have become a big business, and as a result, there are more options nowadays than ever before for cool pool toys.
It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for something to help you leisurely while away the day, or if you’re looking for something to keep you and your crew busy. There is a pool toy out there for everyone.
Water cannons are something everyone loves, but haven’t been readily available until recently. There are two types, and both are fun to use. The first is the mounted cannon that has a water attachment.
This is great, as it feels like you’re working a real cannon and allows for some great pressure without a lot of work by you, but they’re not very mobile. The second kind is the more traditional squirt gun that you carry around. Regardless, both are great to play with.
A classic toy that was the impetus for most of us to learn to swim underwater, dive sticks are fun, small, and easy to transport. They can be used at the pool and at the beach, and they provide loads of fun for adults.
Unlike how we considered them as children, they become a matter of choice for most pool owners. While great, dive sticks are heavy, and they can hurt if you’re hit in the head. Also, if a dive stick gets put into a pool filter, it can seriously mess things up for your filtration system.
If you have kids, then rings are a better option. They sink to the bottom, but they’re a lot lighter and will result in less pain if you get hit. Also, it is really convenient to keep track of which ones you’ve found by keeping them on your arm while you’re hunting along the bottom of the pool (not to mention making them super easy to store in the off-season!)
One part floater, one part weapon, the pool noodle can provide hours of fun for a pool gathering. While fun to lounge on, they can also be swung around, or used as a water cannon if you’ve got the lungs for it. These classic toys are not only a lot of fun, but they’re easy to store.
Floating Pool Speaker
Everyone loves having their favorite music playing while they swim, and having a waterproof WiFi or Bluetooth speaker is the way to go. These devices are small and designed to take a splash or two. Also, some models come with cup holders to help boost their coolness.
Inflatable Pool Floats
A classic. Everyone loves inflatable floats, and besides the usual stable of animals, a particularly big hit this year has been the donut complete with sprinkles! Regardless of shape, they can be fun to ride and jump on, and they add a fun and quirky quality to any pool party you throw.
Some come with cup holders, and some are meant to be bounced, but almost all of them can take even grown-up partygoers riding on them, which makes them fun beyond the grade-school set.
Throwing a ball around the pool can be fun (such as a beach ball), but for those that want something that gets a little more range, consider a water torpedo. Water torpedoes are football-shaped sponges that can get some real distance and don’t actually hurt if you get hit. A fun activity for anyone who is feeling athletic in the pool, the torpedo makes for a great passing the time toy.
Summer can be a time for family and relaxation, and one of the best times you can have in summer is at the pool. When planning your next pool party, consider the toys and games you’ll have to offer, and what you would need to really make a splash with your soggy guests. Really, it doesn’t matter which of these great activities you pick, so long as everyone involved is having fun.
