How to Decorate your Pool for Fall
It’s time to put away the pool noodles and think about the décor that will transform your pool area into a fall haven.
In the South, the seasons may be blurred, but we can still pretend it feels like autumn in our backyards. The following decor can be added to your pool area to create the festive, fall ambiance that will make you want to drink a pumpkin spice latte with a dash of cinnamon.
Adding florals and plants
Fall flowers can add just the right pop of color. The reds and yellows are a simple contrast against the dim skies and clear pool water. They are warm and common in nature, creating a comforting atmosphere for you to relax in while you sit by the pool. You can incorporate a variety of florals such as mums, pansies, black-eyed Susans or even ornamental peppers. Succulents are always a fall staple, and very easy to take care of, as well. In addition to flowers, ornamental wheat, dried cornstalks, pine cones, or straw can be presented in a multitude of ways to give a rustic, shabby chic feel.
Pumpkins, of course!
Pumpkins are a must have for fall, and best of all, they are readily available and extremely festive. The traditional, orange pumpkin is essential, but now you can get them in various colors such as white or light blue. Incorporate the various pumpkins with your floral arrangements to create a true masterpiece.
Fire and lights
Since it’s dark by 5:30pm, lighting up your pool area is comforting yet vibrant. Strings of LED lights twinkle like stars, candles burn with radiance and tiki torches keep those pesky bugs away. If you have LED lights in your pool, try to change up the colors to match the season, as well. In addition to lights, you can install a fire element. Fire features create a cozy setting that entices you to relax and drink a warm beverage. This can be a simple fireplace, or an elegant fire pit surrounded by exquisite landscaping.
