Charles Elfert is the President of Pleasure Pools and is certified by the National Swimming Pool Institute as a C.B.P. (Certified Building Professional). He is the only pool builder in the New Orleans area that has taken this exam and received this certification.
Charles must have been destined to become a pool builder, because at a very early age, he spent an inordinate amount of time in and around swimming pools and it seems like he has been there ever since. From the time he was 6 years old until the time he graduated from high school, he was enrolled in swimming lessons each summer and successfully completed every course the Red Cross program offered, concluding with being certified as a Water Safety Instructor. After graduating from high school, he worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at Legion Park Pool, in Houma, La. the same place he had received those 12 consecutive years of swimming lessons.
He graduated from Nicholls State College in 1968 with a B.S. in health and physical education. In the summer, when he wasn’t teaching at Evergreen Jr. High School, he became assistant manager and eventually manager of that same swimming pool complex. In his career, he instituted the first competitive swimming team at Legion Park Pool and managed Ellendale Country Club Pool and coached the swim team there.
Aimee Elfert Elam is a professional designer with Pleasure Pools. She has been the leading designer since 2006 and strives to continue outperforming others in the industry.
Aimee was raised in the swimming pool industry and has watched her father’s company evolve into the premier builder of custom pools it is today.
Aimee’s commitment to continued education has driven her to complete courses in Pool Studio 3D design, and APSP’s Advanced Builder’s Training which uniquely positions her to provide clients information that others in this market are woefully unaware of. She also won the Merit Ward in the 2010 Aquatech National Design Competition.
Aimee Elfert specializes in pool design.
Homer Elam has been a designer with Pleasure Pools since Hurricane Katrina and now serves as a Construction Superintendent. Prior to Katrina, he had extensive experience in construction and landscape design.
After the storm, Homer began working with Pleasure Pools doing much needed repair work to the many pools that were severely damaged. He was soon promoted to Designer and is now a Superintendent and has excelled doing so ever since. His achievements include completion of the APSP’s Advanced Builder’s Training Program, certification in Pool Studio’s 3D Design, and most recently was capped off by winning a Bronze Medal in the Aquatech National Design Competition. He currently maintains the position of Pleasure Pools’ Construction Superintendent, where he is expected to handle all aspects of construction and we feel he is well suited for.
