When it comes to the pool construction industry, there are several types of certifications that pool contractors can obtain to demonstrate their commitment to professionalism. Organizations such as the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals and Aquatech are pool organizations which maintain strict professional standards for their members in terms of quality, service and craftsmanship. Membership in these organizations must be earned and shows the commitment of each member to the highest levels of professionalism in the pool industry.

Information on APSP and CBP Certification

The APSP maintains a CBP (Certified Building Professional®) Program which requires that the builder adhere to strict ethical standards and have a commitment to the highest standards of workmanship and construction, business stability, and superior customer relations. This designation is held by an elite subset of pool and spa builders in the country who have met all of the program requirements and continue to advance their knowledge by participating in ongoing industry continuing education as a requirement of re-certification.

• There are currently 22 APSP members in the state of Louisiana
• In Louisiana, there are only 7 individuals that have been certified as Certified Building Professionals
